It's been a somewhat frustrating week for the Varmints.  Due to factors outside our control, it looked as though we weren't going to be able to put on a live show on Friday night.  Undaunted, Rob and Matt headed to the studio on Wednesday evening with a view to recording a show for broadcast - unfortunately the recording proved to be unusable, a great pity because the music and chat was - put simply - legendary... a real lost classic. 

Still determined not to disappoint our loyal audience, we edited together "The Varmint Vaults - Best of the Varmint Show, February 2008", by poring over literally hours of recordings.  This finished, we duly loaded it into the 10radio computer and arranged for the appropriate handover to be made by the Bantering Boys at 10pm on Friday night.

As 10pm approached, the Banterers trailed the show, finished their show on time (a world first! ) and switched over to the computer to hear... Van Morrison.  Now, don't get me wrong, I like a bit of Van the Man as much as the next chap, but it wasn't the pre-recorded Varmint Show.  As Van the Man came to an end, we crossed our fingers only to be frustrated as the Sensational Alex Harvey Band kicked in.  To cut a long story short - the show didn't go to air.

Investigations have suggested that this was due to the computer throwing a wobbly.  Everything was correctly set up for the show to go out, but the computer didn't do what it was supposed to do.

To say that we were frustrated is an understatement - the air at the bottom of Golden Hill was blue!

The programme will go out at the usual repeat time of 9pm on Wednesday 30 April, and we will be in the studio, live and verminous, on Friday 2nd May at 10pm... equipment willing!!!
